I have been wanting to change from my current bank to another, but,
there are issues as to how quickly my direct deposit from my employer
will change over to my new bank of choice. This has always been an
issue. I dropped into the Wachovia Bank on P St today, across from
Whole Foods, and was introduced to Justin Silvers, a Financial Consultant. I explained my situation to him, and he offered to call my
company and discuss options. I put him in contact with a member of my
Corporate Payroll team via telephone. After a 10minute conversation
with my company, and you do not understand how difficult my company
is...he worked it out for a seamless change over from my current bank to
Wachovia. My company usually makes you get paper checks for up to 3
pay periods to make a bank direct deposit change. Kudos to Justin
Silvers at Wachovia, and I highly recommend him for financial advise and
direction.

Financier Patisserie Review
This place makes me miss working on Broad Street. Financier is
the most delectable little pastry place I've ever visited in the
Continental United States. Madelines served with every cup of coffee.
Little cafe tables and a buzzing vibe due to the centralized location
amidst financial firms. They have WiFi and you can work from here if you
can grab a table during slower (late morning) times. Financier's
brioche pastries are fresh and perfect! They serve Illy coffee and I've
always found it to be just the thing. Part of the joy of this
place is it acts as an oasis in a very rushed and busy work environment.
Kudos to the owners for running a clean, bright, professional
establishment.

Melinda Muller Review
Melinda clearly cares about her clients. She listened to what I had to
say, and tailored her advice specifically for my needs, rather than
trying to sell products. She had a number of important
suggestions for my financial planning that I never would have thought of
on my own (e.g. need for disability insurance, considering inflation
indexed bonds, etc.) She is very knowledgeable about financial tools and services, professional and highly qualified.

local businesses with both financial and operational support. Kudos to
Joy Cousminer, Fred Fernandez, and the entire staff and Board of Bethex

Warren Strother Tax & Financial Services Review
I had a lot of problems with my taxes the previous year because of my
move from Puerto Rico. This year I had Mr. Strother do my 2010 taxes
and everything was great.
I had to file Fed plus three different states. DC, MD, and CA. Yeah, I get around... anyway, he was very patient, he asked a lot of questions when I initially dropped off all my paperwork, which was reassuring. When he was finished with everything he then took his time explaining all of the final documents and how he got his numbers.
It took a while to get my taxes back because he was pretty busy and I was a little late getting motivated to have my taxes done (I assumed I'd be paying but I was wrong). However, the wait was well worth it, as good a job as he did I image he get a lot of repeat business!.
Of course it doesn't hurt that his rates were very reasonable. He did my Fed and all three states for about what I would have expected to be chared at say HR or one of the chains.. and did a much better job.
